Tasha Weatherspoon PT, DPT
Meet Tasha Weatherspoon, a passionate and accomplished Physical Therapist (PT) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), known for her extensive clinical expertise and dedication to advancing the field of physical therapy. Tasha’s journey in physical therapy began at the prestigious Northwestern University Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences (NUPTHMS), where she graduated in 1998 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Her thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there; in 2022, Tasha furthered her education by earning a Doctorate Degree and a Certificate in Rehabilitation Administration from the University of Montana.
Tasha’s professional experience is as diverse as it is impressive. She has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, women’s health, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), as a traveling PT, and in home health. Her expertise not only lies in clinical practice but also in academia. Tasha has contributed significantly to the NUPTHMS community as an Associated Faculty member, teaching and mentoring students in courses such as Issues Across the Lifespan, Foundations I & II, Professional Role Development, Prosthetics, and enriching their learning through Patient Management Field Trips in Home Care Settings.
Beyond her clinical and teaching roles, Tasha has made her mark as an author, contributing a chapter on Home Care Setting in the e-book “Physical Therapy for the Older Adult,” edited by Dr. Carole B. Lewis and colleagues. Her leadership skills are evident in her role as the President of the NUPTHMS Alumni Board of Directors, and she also lends her expertise to the Editorial Board of Topics in Geriatric Rehabilitation.
Tasha’s passion for physical therapy extends beyond her professional commitments. She is an enthusiastic advocate for the field, actively participating in career panels for middle and high school students to inspire and increase awareness about the opportunities and benefits of pursuing a career in physical therapy.
